Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of kitchen experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and conduct the overall dining experience and nutrition of residents
  • Communicate and connect with residents to learn their dining tastes and preferences and ensure resident satisfaction
  • Provide alternate meal choices in accordance with residents' tastes and preferences
  • Adhere to all county health codes and maintain excellent inspection ratings
  • Meet residents' special diet needs including diabetics, mechanical soft diets, and food allergies
  • Follow posted weekly menus
  • Collaborate with Culinary Executive Director on requisition of products and food supplies
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety in kitchen and dining areas
  • Establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and prevent employee theft
  • Utilize safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles in food preparation
  • Adhere to standard recipes and food presentation techniques to ensure quality and minimize costs
  • Cook or supervise cooking of skillfully prepared items
  • Evaluate food quality consistently
  • Interact with Culinary Executive Director to exceed resident and family expectations
  • Follow cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen and equipment
  • Utilize locally sourced and organic food when possible
  • Create a positive work environment encouraging creative problem solving and job satisfaction
  • Develop a strong team culture fostering interdepartmental cooperation
  • Demonstrate exemplary attitude, work ethic, and integrity
  • Lead with servant-leadership style that is inspirational, motivational, and compassionate
  • Contribute to an exceptional customer experience
  • Assist in training and provide insights to team members for positive customer interactions
