Job Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally
- Ability to push and pull product-loaded carts up to 250 lbs of force occasionally
- Capability for sitting and climbing occasionally
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, and manual handling
- Frequent head turn, trunk bend, side reach, grasp, power grip, pinch, finger manipulation, and tactile sensation
- Constant standing, handling, and forward reaching
Job Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in retail or customer service environment, preferably in a managerial role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of cheese products with confidence in product representation
- Proven ability to drive sales through suggestive selling, sampling, cross-merchandising, and display presentations
- Creativity and innovation with a strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills including using iPads for customer orders, order pickup, and training
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying shifts
Job Duties
- Developing and implementing merchandising strategies to enhance cheese offerings aligned with company objectives
- Leading, training, and motivating Associates on cheese products, sales techniques, and food safety
- Maintaining meticulous oversight of departmental operations including production, sales, inventory management, and food safety protocols
- Ensuring seamless execution of cheese shop operations and supporting other areas of the Deli/Seafood department as needed
- Collaborating with the Deli/Seafood Management Team to uphold high standards of quality, consistency, and profitability
- Overseeing training, development, and motivation of Associates to foster a high-performing environment
- Preparing and selling signature foods such as rotisserie and smoked meats, sliced cheeses, and various seafood
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the department while adhering to food-handling procedures
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable service to all customers
- Demonstrating flexibility in working varied schedules including evenings and weekends
