Job Description

Walmart is a leading multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. Known for its commitment to offering customers low prices and a wide range of products, Walmart serves millions of customers every week through its stores worldwide. The company is recognized not only for its expansive retail presence but also for its dedication to employee development and comprehensive benefits. Walmart values a diverse workforce and emphasizes creating an inclusive environment where associates can thrive and build long-term careers.

This role is for a Part-Time Front End Checkout Associate position at the Walmart store located at 189 US Highway 46, Saddle Brook, NJ. The associate will primarily work mid-shift and closing shifts. The hourly wage ranges from $18 to $31 per hour, depending on the location and the associate’s experience. Additionally, associates may receive annual or quarterly performance incentives and premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply concurrently if the criteria are met.

As a Front End Checkout Associate, you will handle operating the cash register efficiently while providing excellent customer service. The role involves greeting customers cheerfully, handling purchase transactions with accuracy, processing payment methods, and maintaining a positive and helpful attitude. You will often be the first and last point of contact for customers in the store, making your role critical in shaping the overall shopping experience.

This position requires standing for extended periods and demands excellent communication skills, patience, and a customer-oriented mindset. Walmart supports its associates in balancing work and life with competitive pay, paid time off, and multiple health and financial benefits. The company also offers unique programs like Live Better U, which fully subsidizes education for associates seeking to enhance their skills or complete degrees.

Walmart’s comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) plans, company-paid life insurance, and incentives for parental leave, family care leave, and more. Associates also receive perks such as disability plans, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, and adoption or surrogacy expense reimbursements. All associates participate in maintaining a safe, drug-free work environment, supporting the company’s no tolerance policy towards illegal drugs and alcohol.

Joining Walmart as a Front End Checkout Associate is an excellent opportunity to be part of a global retail leader while enjoying flexible part-time hours and the potential for growth and continuous learning within the company.
