Committed to providing excellent customer service, Walmart continually focuses on employee growth, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits to maintain a motivated workforce. Walmart is renowned for its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainable business practices, making it a respected leader in the retail industry.
This job opportunity is for a part-time Front End Checkout Associate position at Walmart Supercenter #1361. The role involves operating the cash register, greeting customers with a friendly smile, efficiently processing payments, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout the shift. Associates in this role are an essential part of the store’s customer service team, ensuring a seamless and pleasant checkout experience for customers. Based on available shifts, this position covers mid-shift and closing hours, requiring the candidate to be flexible and dependable.
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $14 to $27 per hour, with the actual rate meeting or exceeding the minimum wage mandates of the job location. Besides the base pay, employees are eligible for additional compensation through quarterly or annual performance incentives. Certain conditions might include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, depending on work schedules, facility, seasonality, or specific duties executed. Multiple premiums can be combined if qualifications are met.
This role demands physical stamina, primarily because of extended periods of standing during shifts and active customer engagement. Associates should be ready to assist customers with their inquiries and needs, contributing to the overall excellent service culture at Walmart. Candidates interested in this role should be enthusiastic about delivering high levels of service and maintaining a welcoming environment for shoppers.
Walmart emphasizes a supportive work environment by offering a comprehensive benefits package for part-time associates. Benefits include health insurance options covering medical, vision, and dental care, financial benefits like 401(k) plans, stock purchase programs, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off is available covering various types such as parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave. Additional benefits include short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, and support for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
Employees also have access to the Live Better U education benefit program, which Walmart fully funds for both full-time and part-time associates. This program offers educational opportunities ranging from high school completion and English learning to bachelor’s degrees and certificate programs with tuition, books, and fees covered.
Walmart fosters a workplace safety culture with a strict no tolerance policy towards illegal drug and alcohol use during work hours to ensure a secure, healthy, and productive environment for all associates and customers. This policy supports Walmart's commitment to being a responsible and employee-focused retail leader.
