- excellent oral and written communication skills
- demonstrated ability to deal with stressful situations compassionately
- proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, or equivalent software
- valid state driver’s license and auto insurance
- experience in community presentations
- ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- skills to analyze information and solve problems
- familiarity with company policies and procedures
- active participant in a biblically based church
Job Duties
- Serves as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose
- interacts with companies, their employees, and the community in a manner that exhibits character through personal and spiritual disciplines
- makes brief visits to company worksites regularly to build relationships of trust and friendship motivated by Christian faith
- provides confidential pastoral discussions addressing personal and family issues including illness, grief, financial stress, and parenting
- offers referral services and coordination for specialized assistance
- assists in planning and attending funerals, providing follow-up support to families
- may visit jails to support employees and families
- works with companies to notify families and employees of deaths or serious injuries
- offers post-termination care to laid-off or terminated employees
- facilitates spiritual enrichment activities as appropriate
- provides literature and resources to assist with life issues
- represents companies in ministry services during serious illness, accidents, and funerals
- participates in new employee orientation to explain chaplain services
- responds to additional duties as requested by executive leadership within ministry scope
