- excellent oral and written communication skills
- ability to maintain emotional stability in stressful situations
- demonstrated skill in problem-solving and interpreting policies
- computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications
- ability to work effectively with diverse groups and accept different lifestyles and beliefs
- skills in effective listening and community presentations
Job Duties
- Serve as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose
- interact with companies, their employees, and the community demonstrating character through spiritual disciplines
- make brief visits to company worksites regularly to build trust and friendship
- visit employees or family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other sites
- provide confidential pastoral discussions for employees and family regarding personal and family issues
- assist in planning and attending funerals with follow-up support
- conduct jail visits to employees and family members
- work with companies to serve notifications of death and serious injuries encouraging impacted individuals
- provide post-termination care for laid-off or terminated employees
- facilitate, but not lead, spiritual enrichment activities
- provide literature and resources to assist employees with life issues
- represent companies to clients/customers for ministry services
- participate in new employee orientation explaining Chaplain services
- respond to additional duties requested by executive leadership within scope of agreement
