Job Requirements

  • United Aviate graduate
  • Must be in good standing
  • Must be able to work full-time, nights, weekends, and holiday schedules
  • FAA CFI, CFII, MEI certification
  • Medical Class 3 certification
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communications skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and aviation scheduling systems
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and other aviation regulations
  • Commitment to United's CORE4 values

Job Qualifications

  • United Aviate Pathway participation preferred but not required
  • Extensive understanding of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and other regulations pertaining to aviation
  • FAA CFI, CFII, MEI certification required
  • Medical Class 3 certification required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (i.e., Aviation or Business Administration)
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communications skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and aviation scheduling systems
  • Knowledge of Aviation regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Knowledge of United Airlines policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items
  • Courage to make key decisions and advise leadership with professionalism and poise
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations
  • Strong ability to use data and analytics
  • Build strong partnerships across business areas, operations, standards, safety, student services, and United Airlines

Job Duties

  • Maintain student training records in accordance with 14 CFR Part 141 and United Aviate Academy policies
  • Maintain training standard as set forth by FAA regulations and United Aviate policies
  • Ensure that course standards, training requirements and objectives are met by all assigned students as required by the Training Course Outline
  • Report on student progress and accurately maintain and update all appropriate records
  • Recommend and develop curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate
  • Maintain safe, caring, dependable and efficient culture with students, fellow instructors, and staff
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required
  • Must be able to work full-time, nights, weekends, and holiday schedules
