Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC certificate
  • certification as an instructor and/or trainer in any fitness area by a nationally recognized organization
  • certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or within six months hire date
  • ability to maintain licensure and certifications as a condition of employment
  • no prior experience required but experience instructing water fitness classes preferred

Job Qualifications

  • experience instructing water fitness classes
  • bilingual skills

Job Duties

  • Instructing water fitness classes of roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration per class at one or more Denver recreation center pools
  • creating enthusiastic and energetic class environments while providing specific emphasis on safety and proper execution of movements
  • keeping current on all certifications and industry practices
  • maintaining attendance records for classes
  • distributing and collecting class evaluations as requested
  • answering participant questions and resolving issues, problems, and conflicts
  • maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • completing lesson plans
