Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Willingness to work PRN shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods during surgeries
- Compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ability to follow directions under supervision
Job Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist credential or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures and surgical instrument handling
- Ability to assist physicians effectively during surgery
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under supervision
- Attention to detail in instrument counts and cleanliness
Job Duties
- Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure
- Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning
- Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use
- Knowledge of instruments and surgical techniques
- instrument and needle counts
- isolation techniques and terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and rooms
- Demonstrates knowledge of specific technical surgical skills
