Job Requirements
- Graduate of a Surgical Assistant program or equivalent surgical assistant training
- Current certification as Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
- Maintains Basic Life Support certification
- Relevant operating room experience or training within the past 3 years preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable perioperative environments
- Eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of a Surgical Assistant program or equivalent training
- Currently certified as a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
- Relevant operating room experience or recent training preferred
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable perioperative situations
- Proven communication skills with patients and healthcare team
- Demonstrates patient-centered and customer-focused communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Maintains current Basic Life Support certification
Job Duties
- First assist the surgeon/physician in surgical procedures
- Understand human surgical anatomy
- Develop and apply surgical skills such as suturing and use of surgical instruments
- Ensure proper positioning of surgical patients
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to perioperative policies and procedural guidelines
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during surgery
- Work across multiple surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular, and pediatric surgery
