Job Requirements
- Five plus years of full-time experience as a strength and conditioning specialist in collegiate or higher, professional, or tactical athletics, aerospace industry, test pilot/astronaut or similar man-machine high-performance environment
- Master’s degree or higher in human performance, kinesiology, exercise science, or related field
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
- Current CPR and AED trained
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass Tier 1 background check
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional after-hours
- Physical proficiency to demonstrate exercises and work in austere environments
- Ability to lift and manipulate loads up to 55 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Human Performance, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification
- Five or more years of experience in strength and conditioning with collegiate, professional, tactical athletics, aerospace, or high-performance environments
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Strong knowledge of human performance optimization and injury prevention strategies
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in austere and physically demanding environments
- Experience with occupational physical fitness assessments and training program design
Job Duties
- Complete all unit and government in-processing requirements and training
- Coordinate individualized exercise programs to ensure safe return to training
- Design and implement physical training programs to enhance functional movement, strength, and power
- Understand operator scheduling and deployment to tailor training programs
- Perform routine occupational-specific physical fitness assessments
- Provide instruction and guidance on physical conditioning and injury prevention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic performance optimization
- Manage physical conditioning equipment and supply inventories
- Ensure equipment and facilities meet safety and maintenance standards
- Provide fitness reports to commanders and maintain relationships with medical support staff
- Refer personnel with medical conditions for evaluation and treatment
- Understand mission requirements and physical needs of operators
- Attend staff meetings to review and improve training programs
- Perform administrative duties and maintain workload records
- Advise on human performance facility layout and exercise protocol development
- Demonstrate exercises and work in austere environments
- Conduct in-processing assessments for new personnel
- Provide human performance metrics and effectiveness reports
