Job Requirements
- high school graduate or equivalent
- certification from an approved Certified Scrub School preferred
- at least one year of relevant experience
- ability to maintain sterile field and follow surgical protocols
- knowledge of the principles of growth and development relevant to patient care
- effective communication skills
- ability to work under supervision and within a team environment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- graduation from an approved Certified Scrub School with certification preferred
- one year of on the job experience
- knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques
- ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- ability to demonstrate technical surgical skills
- willingness to participate in continuing education
- good interpersonal and communication skills
Job Duties
- assist physicians with surgical instrumentation
- monitor and manage PAR levels of surgical instruments and supplies
- clean and sterilize surgical instruments
- participate in staff meetings and performance improvement activities
- perform instrument and needle counts during procedures
- ensure isolation techniques and terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and rooms
- work under the supervision of a registered nurse
