Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year CNA experience
- Current CNA license in state of practice
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to train and mentor others
- Ability to float to other areas
- Completion of preceptor education course
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and leadership abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work variable shifts and be on-call
- Commitment to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Minimum of one year CNA experience
- Proficient in competencies including end-of-life care, Alzheimer’s and Dementia
- Ability to train and mentor other employees
- Ability to float to other areas of the facility
- Completion of preceptor education course
- Current BLS certification
- Current CNA license required by state regulations

Job Duties
- Provide daily living assistance and complete necessary tasks to promote patient health
- Assist patients with basic hygiene needs
- Maintain optimum mobility levels
- Provide safe patient handling and infection control practices
- Assist patients with nutritional intake as needed
- Provide end-of-life care
- Collect patient specimens and data including vital signs and glucose testing
- Document objective data and routine aspects of patient care
- Assist in transportation of patient specimens
- Recognize and report abnormalities or changes in patient health status
- Promote continuity of care by communicating patient status
- Perform procedures and use equipment as delegated by licensed professional including blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs, EKG monitoring, and bladder scanning
- Provide supplies, support, and assistance to medical staff and patients during procedures
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked environment
- Incorporate long-term care infection control standards
- Provide general support including greeting and assisting patients, visitors, providers, and ancillary personnel
- Escort patients to appointments and planned outings ensuring safety and timeliness
- Assist with general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient unit operation
- Mentor, train and teach other staff
- Participate in performance improvement projects
- Incorporate Eden philosophy with residents and staff
- Maintain competencies in Alzheimer’s and Dementia support
- Perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Provide excellent service to all customers by demonstrating core and leader behaviors daily
