Job Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Mississippi State Department of Health
  • CPR Heartsaver or BLS certification within 90 days of employment
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to lift, reposition, and transport patients and equipment using proper body mechanics
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
  • Skill in computer use including data entry
  • Physical ability to perform job-related duties including lifting up to 75 pounds and frequent standing and walking

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant with Mississippi State Department of Health certification
  • CPR Heartsaver or BLS certification within 90 days of employment
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to provide patient care and services
  • Skill in use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to input and verify data on computers

Job Duties

  • Perform all duties of a hospital tech including collection and recording of vital signs and activities of daily living
  • Turn patients and change linens
  • Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments and arranging transportation
  • Collect and deliver specimens and supplies within acceptable time frames
  • Clean and assemble equipment, charge supplies and report equipment in need of repair
  • Perform venipuncture, blood glucose testing, and point of care testing
  • Perform computerized EKGs and provide copies for patient charts
  • Assist RN with elimination needs including catheter removal and administering enemas
  • Operate sterilization equipment and perform sterilization on instruments
  • Follow all institutional policies and procedures
  • Adapt to additional duties as assigned by management
