Job Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Mississippi State Department of Health
- CPR Heartsaver or BLS certification within 90 days of employment
- No prior experience required
- Ability to lift, reposition, and transport patients and equipment using proper body mechanics
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
- Skill in computer use including data entry
- Physical ability to perform job-related duties including lifting up to 75 pounds and frequent standing and walking
Job Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant with Mississippi State Department of Health certification

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to provide patient care and services
- Skill in use of personal computers and related software applications
- Interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to input and verify data on computers
Job Duties
- Perform all duties of a hospital tech including collection and recording of vital signs and activities of daily living
- Turn patients and change linens
- Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments and arranging transportation
- Collect and deliver specimens and supplies within acceptable time frames
- Clean and assemble equipment, charge supplies and report equipment in need of repair
- Perform venipuncture, blood glucose testing, and point of care testing
- Perform computerized EKGs and provide copies for patient charts
- Assist RN with elimination needs including catheter removal and administering enemas
- Operate sterilization equipment and perform sterilization on instruments
- Follow all institutional policies and procedures
- Adapt to additional duties as assigned by management
