Job Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from Mississippi State Department of Health
  • CPR certification (Heartsaver or BLS) within 90 days of employment
  • ability to lift, reposition and transport patients and equipment using proper body mechanics
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • proficiency in computer data entry
  • no prior experience required
  • ability to work full-time
  • willingness to work occasional extended hours and travel to offsite locations occasionally

Job Duties

  • Perform all duties of a hospital tech including collection and recording of vital signs
  • assist with activities of daily living such as turning patients and linen changes
  • perform clerical tasks including scheduling appointments and arranging transportation for patients
  • collect and deliver specimens and supplies within acceptable time frames
  • clean and assemble equipment, charge supplies and report repair needs
  • perform venipuncture, blood glucose testing, and point of care testing according to procedures
  • operate computerized EKGs and provide copies for patient charts
  • assist RN with elimination needs including urinary catheter removal, enemas, and emptying bedpans and ostomies
  • operate sterilization equipment and perform sterilization on instruments including packaging
  • adhere to any additional duties as assigned by management
