Job Requirements

  • An active Texas Commission of Fire Protection firefighter certification and/or Texas Department of State Health Services emergency medical technician certification
  • Must not be 36 years of age or older for entry-level certification as per Texas regulations
  • Must pass physical ability test, interview, background check, immunizations, drug screening, and medical examination
  • Must not have conviction or community supervision for felony or Class A misdemeanor
  • Must comply with immunization/shot records requirements prior to job offer
  • Ability to participate in extensive training academy program

Job Qualifications

  • Active Texas Commission of Fire Protection firefighter certification
  • Active Texas Department of State Health Services emergency medical technician certification
  • Ability to participate in physical training and emergency response activities
  • Strong knowledge of fire suppression techniques and emergency medical protocols
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to public safety and emergency preparedness

Job Duties

  • Participate in classroom lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions
  • Receive and participate in training in fire suppression and emergency medical services
  • Attend drills, demonstrations, and instruction in hydraulics, pump operation, maintenance, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services
  • Respond promptly to fire emergencies and medical emergencies at airport facilities
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols
  • Perform rescue operations and provide emergency medical treatment at the scene
  • Maintain firefighting and emergency medical equipment in optimal condition
