Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certificate
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in kitchen, supervisory position, preferably in a hospital, nursing or other related medical facility
  • Proven experience managing a budget and controlling food costs
  • Ability to lead by example and treat everyone at work kindly and professionally

Job Duties

  • Plan, develop, organize, evaluate and direct the Food Services Department reputation, programs and activities
  • Hire, train and supervise staff in a kind, collaborative manner in accordance with company culture
  • Partner with Dietician to ensure residents’ diets and nutritional needs are met
  • Coordinate food services and activities with other related departments as needed
  • Ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies
  • Monitor staff to confirm they adhere to all sanitation, safety and procedural guidelines within the department
  • Participate in facility’s surveys and inspections, developing a plan of correction if/when deficiencies are noted
