The Hyde Art Gallery, located within Grossmont College, is a renowned cultural institution dedicated to promoting contemporary art and fostering creative expression within the community. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts or related field
  • Minimum two years of experience in gallery curation or arts administration
  • Proficient in project management and event coordination
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Availability during key exhibition dates
  • Basic knowledge of ceramics and contemporary art techniques

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in art curation or gallery management
  • Knowledge of contemporary ceramic art practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Familiarity with artist relations and exhibition logistics
  • Background in visual arts or related field
  • Experience with juried exhibitions preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage art submission process including coordination of deadlines and artist communications
  • Review and jury submitted artworks to select exhibition pieces
  • Organize logistics for artwork delivery, installation, and retrieval
  • Coordinate the exhibition schedule including opening reception and public events
  • Communicate with selected artists regarding documentation and shipping requirements
  • Facilitate the promotion and marketing of the exhibition
  • Ensure compliance with exhibition guidelines and eligibility criteria
