Job Requirements
- Function in a fast-paced retail environment
- Lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires 5-8 years of related experience
- Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- 2-3 years exp in meat cutting, food preparation, and equipment required
- Food safety and sanitation certification preferred
Job Duties
- Must be familiar with over 100 cuts of meat
- Responsible for market operation in manager's absence
- Assists manager with organization and delegation of duties including scheduling
- Cuts meat for full and self-service cases
- Organizes and delegates day-to-day operation of the meat market
- Places and receives meat orders including inventory control
- Monitors work conditions for safety and sanitation
- Cleans, sanitizes, and organizes the meat cooler, cutting room, and wrap station
- Performs cutting tests on profitability of retail meat cuts
- Provides internal customer service
- Assists in supervising up to 10 employees in the market department
