Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of related work experience may substitute for education
- five years of experience in institutional type high production kitchen
- two years of supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
- ability to interpret standardized recipes
- ability to prepare and interpret simple reports
- proficiency in basic math
- successful completion of ASD Serving It Safe food safety course and exam within 21 days of hire
- ability to work in a fast-paced assembly line environment
- physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 40 lbs
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to manage stress and make decisions under pressure

- strong leadership and communication skills
- prior experience in a large scale food production environment preferred
- ability to work under pressure and handle diverse teams
Job Duties
- Function as the front line supervisor for all Central Kitchen staff
- provide input for employee evaluations and report to the Central Kitchen Manager
- train and orient new staff and assign mentors
- schedule breaks, lunch periods, production time, and packaging allocations
- participate in operational meetings with the manager
- lead baking and cooking activities in a high-volume, assembly line environment
- ensure timely, accurate, safe, and cost-effective production and packaging
- evaluate and recommend improvements for production packaging and scheduling
- assist in organizing and assigning work to ensure readiness for delivery
- conduct daily inventory and maintain quality and production controls
- keep accurate records of supplies used and products packaged
- adjust approved recipes for batch size changes
- assist on an assembly line with tasks like filling packages and lifting
- ensure sanitation and food safety regulations are followed
- safely operate kitchen equipment
- maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
- foster positive working relationships with students, staff, and the public
