Job Requirements
- shows interest and enthusiasm in preparing and serving a nutritious meal of high quality
- able to prepare food according to standardized recipes
- requires basic math skills for accurate measuring and recipe conversion
- must have the ability to stand and walk during entire shift
- the ability to bend kneel stoop lift pull and reach for short periods of time
- must follow safety and sanitation procedures
- keep a neat and clean appearance
- must have the knowledge of standardized work routines within 2 to 8 weeks
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree preferred
- previous experience with large scale cooking and food preparation and serving preferred
- shows interest and enthusiasm in preparing and serving a nutritious meal of high quality
- able to prepare food according to standardized recipes
- requires basic math skills for accurate measuring and recipe conversion
Job Duties
- wash all types of foodservice equipment utilizing three compartment sinks spray hoses automated dishwasher towels and scouring pads warm to hot water cleaning chemicals and other associated items
- clean kitchen equipment and facilities as needed including steam kettles floor drains sinks coolers freezers and transportation carts
- train and cross train coworkers on job responsibilities related to this position
- wash dry fold and put away towels and aprons
- assist kitchen staff with culinary tasks including washing fruits and vegetables portioning and packaging food loading packaged food into transportation carts and transferring large quantities of food within the assigned location
- complete additional tasks assigned by the Operations Supervisor including daily and weekly assignments
- ensure compliance with departmental procedures in elementary kitchens in the absence of the manager
