Job Description

The Central Kitchen Operations Assistant Manager position is a pivotal role within the operations of a large-scale food service establishment. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in the coordination and general operation of the central kitchen including supervising personnel in all areas of food production distribution and storage
  • Ensure quality control safety sanitary standards and other Nutrition Services policies and procedures are met
  • Assist in supervising training and evaluating Food Service Assistants and Leads including coordinating daily work assignments
  • Develop direct and guide production and distribution schedules
  • Report accidents promptly and report equipment malfunctions while ensuring a safe working environment in accordance with HACCP system
  • Assist staff with daily meal preparation and disbursement of foods and supplies when needed
  • Maintain records submit daily reports and menu planners verify time procedures for central kitchen staff
  • Check food product and supplies inventories monitor usage and receive items following established procedures
  • Serve as a liaison between staff and the Manager participate in staff meetings provide information and training to staff promote team cooperation and maintain effective food service communications and customer relations
  • Recommend program improvements to the Manager and assist in promoting Nutrition Services programs to increase meal participation
  • Monitor student trends recommend new food items recipes and equipment needs
  • Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
