Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years old
- Current valid driver's license
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to climb steps and ladders to access mixer drum
- Ability to perform physical tasks including reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and twisting
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to operate concrete mixer truck and related equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum one year experience driving heavy equipment, preferably in construction
- Satisfactory driving and criminal record
- General knowledge of local area preferred
- Ability to perform simple math calculations
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Stable work record preferred with no more than three jobs in the past five years
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
Job Duties
- Performs daily pre-trip and post trip of the vehicle adhering to safety inspection regulations according to company guidelines
- Maintains truck maintenance checks including fluid levels and fuel
- Reports vehicle mechanical problems promptly to fleet maintenance
- Positions mixer truck under batch plant to ensure minimal material waste
- Follows instructions from dispatch or plant manager to maintain concrete quality within customer specifications
- Determines the safest and most direct route to customer job sites complying with regulations
- Wears personal protective equipment as required
- Drives and operates mixer truck to deliver and unload concrete safely
- Inspects job sites to ensure safe operating conditions
- Communicates professionally with customers
- Attaches extension chutes as needed for efficient unloading
- Removes excess concrete from truck surfaces with water according to environmental regulations
- Discards excess concrete from mixer drum following company and environmental guidelines
- Ensures mixer drum is free of concrete build-up
- Maintains communications with dispatch using Encoder system and two-way radio
- Keeps truck clean and organized
- Completes required paperwork accurately and promptly
- Adheres to company policies for safety, quality, and service
- Maintains professional personal appearance
- Works from other plants as needed
- Performs additional duties as required by management
