Job Description

The Center Relations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the success of Braille Institute’s various centers across Southern California, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Center Director, the Coordinator provides essential administrative support, manages office functions, and acts as a professional representative in the Director’s absence. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years' relevant experience
  • AA degree or higher or equivalent experience
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent
  • Technically astute and comfortable learning new applications and systems
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of issues and challenges
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Conflict management skills
  • Ability to work independently using discretion and judgment
  • Minimal travel requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Proven administrative and office management experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal
  • Conflict management proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and judiciously
  • Experience in event coordination and volunteer program support
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Skilled in handling multiple priorities simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and performs administrative and office management functions including document preparation, monitors center budget, manages flow of correspondence, filing, purchase orders and payment of bills, requisitions materials and supplies
  • Assists Center Director with smooth onsite office operations
  • Delivers excellent customer service to staff, clients, and partners
  • Answers incoming calls, provides answers or direction, redirects to appropriate resources
  • Evaluates and improves center operations, updates procedures and policies for efficiency
  • Manages internal and external communications, serves as point of contact for inquiries
  • Produces marketing collateral following Braille Marketing styles for events and meetings
  • Supports center teams with administrative tasks
  • Files and organizes office documents and invoices, ensures compliance with record retention procedures
  • Liaises with vendors and manages office inventory
  • Assists with onboarding new employees and ensures proper workstation setup
  • Greets visitors and directs them to appropriate resources
  • Coordinates center events, provides tours, and hosts visitors
  • Handles student and patron concerns, escalates issues as required
  • Assists with Volunteer Impact Program coordination and volunteer onboarding
  • Manages company fleet in smaller centers including maintenance and vendor service arrangements
  • Collaborates with Facilities for equipment repairs and maintenance such as HVAC systems
