Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in sports or recreation administration or equivalent
  • One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force as required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic math and data entry
  • Ability to handle interpersonal communication and customer service
  • Capacity to operate office and recreational equipment
  • Physical capability to perform light to medium work
  • Adaptability to work under stress
  • Ability to maintain safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in sports or recreation administration or related field
  • One to two years of related experience
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Knowledge of recreation programming and event planning
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively market programs and services
  • Competence in supervising staff and managing facility operations
  • Proficient with office technology, including computers and records management
  • Understanding of safety and occupational hazards
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with adaptability

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and supervising operations, activities and events of the Riverview Park Activities Center and assigned special events
  • Supervise assigned seasonal staff and class instructors including scheduling, instructing, assigning and planning work
  • Maintain standards, coordinate activities, allocate personnel, and resolve employee, customer and instructor problems
  • Open and close facility at established times
  • Maintain activities calendar for the center
  • Greet members, guests and clients
  • Handle inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints
  • Supervise member activities, verify identifications, enforce rules and maintain membership records
  • Collect and post membership, rental and registration fees
  • Supervise activities and events during center use
  • Demonstrate proper and safe use of equipment
  • Survey members for feedback
  • Assist with facility rentals and client support
  • Prepare event spaces
  • Inspect facilities and coordinate maintenance
  • Attend meetings and training
  • Perform general administrative and office tasks
  • Operate vehicles, office equipment and recreational apparatuses
  • Use office, computer, maintenance, cleaning supplies and sports paraphernalia
