Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to drive various vehicles including a 14-passenger bus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy items up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to walk, climb, and move freely to interact with patrons
  • Ability to hear and talk to communicate with the public
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and multitask
  • Successful completion of drug test, background check, and reference checks
  • Drug testing and background check including criminal history, SBI fingerprinting, motor vehicle records, education verification, and credit history review as applicable
  • Willingness to follow all Cary policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • Some experience with in-person customer service preferred
  • Some experience supervising or guiding groups in structured or unstructured settings preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365

Job Duties

  • Assist with greeting, checking in, loading, driving, and off-loading passengers at prescheduled sites while maintaining the planned itinerary
  • Learn specific details of each trip including itinerary and driving directions
  • Help staff foresee potential issues such as participant physical limitations and parking restrictions
  • Understand trip processes and procedures to troubleshoot unexpected situations
  • Respond to participant inquiries by phone, email, and in-person
  • Provide supervisor or program assistant with trip information including issues and positive feedback
  • Access vehicle prior to trip using key valet with reservation code
  • Proactively identify trip needs and suggest solutions
  • Drive vehicle with passengers for the trip
  • Fuel and clean vehicle prior to returning to parking lot
  • Provide town information and materials to citizens or redirect to appropriate staff
  • Return key to valet at end of shift
  • Perform basic accounting for money spent on meals, tickets, and incidentals for scheduled trips
  • Follow Cary policies and procedures
  • Perform other job-related tasks as required
