Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to plan and coordinate activities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with seniors or in senior living environments preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively
- Basic computer skills
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
- One to three years experience preferred in assisted living, long term care or related senior population experience
Job Duties
- Assist in planning, scheduling and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for residents
- Assist, invite and encourage residents to participate in activities
- Assess, plan and manage facilitation of a comprehensive activities program utilizing team members and volunteers
- Attend all community planned functions and coordinate events from setup through break down
- Help plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events
- Coordinate holiday decorations for the community
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for activities and special events
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate mixed group activities including assisted living and Memory Care
- Facilitate regularly scheduled and specialized activities in the Memory Care program
- Maintain activity areas in an orderly manner
- Assist in maintaining inventory of activity supplies, games, programs and crafts
- Care for animals and plants within the activities program if applicable
- Prepare and organize a calendar of events, submit for approval, post and distribute the calendar
- Distribute community newsletter
- Meet with new residents to introduce the program
- Assist Director in wellness program leadership
- Organize and supervise volunteer staff
- Address resident and other groups on common interest topics
- Maintain a database and prepare reports on resident assessments, participation and satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned
