- prior experience in correctional facility preferred
Job Duties
- oversee production of meal services for inmate population ensuring safety and security of public staff and inmates
- manage efficient meal service including medical and religious diets during assigned shifts
- supervise inmate work crews in daily kitchen operations
- ensure sanitation and compliance with applicable regulations standards and guidelines
- ensure appropriate use of resources and inventory
- train and guide staff and inmates in key tool and chemical control inmate counts shakedowns searches escorts movement control inmate access and application of restraints and force
- ensure safe secure and compliant food preparation cooking portioning and sanitation
- follow menus and recipes instruct inmates in cooking techniques sanitation and equipment use
- track usage monitor inventory place orders and control expenses and waste
- create schedules assign work conduct job evaluations and post wages
- maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment functionality
- promote high level of performance and adherence to agency mission vision and values
- uphold integrity and ethical behavior
- prepare inmates for community re-entry by providing meaningful work experience
