Job Requirements
- high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- 1 year tractor trailer driving experience preferred or completion of tractor trailer driving school
- insurable to operate company vehicle
- ability to read and speak English sufficiently
- meet DOT and company regulations
- ability to safely handle hazardous materials and restaurant items
- physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and push/pull 350 pounds with hand cart
- availability to work overnight, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
Job Qualifications
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- ability to read, write and communicate in English
- knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines
- safe lifting and delivery practices
- skill in driving long distances in various weather and terrain conditions
- ability to use on board computer and hand cart
- problem-solving skills
- good communication skills with customers
- ability to operate a 3 axle tractor and trailers between 45 and 48 feet
Job Duties
- safely transport product from warehouse to customer location according to assigned route
- unload product from trailer by hand or hand cart and place in designated customer storage areas
- pick up, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns
- complete all paperwork accurately including DOT logs, inspections, and invoices
- ensure all food safety protocols are met and maintain sanitary conditions in vehicles and warehouse
- follow preferred work methods and report unsafe conditions
- maintain and operate all assigned equipment safely
- develop good relationships with customers through courteous service
- communicate with management about route, trailer or product issues
- safely transport backhauls and line hauls product
- work assigned schedule including nights, weekends, overtime and other duties as assigned
