Job Requirements
- One year CDL driving experience in waste collection or local delivery preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B with air-brake endorsement
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located
- Ability to safely operate heavy-duty trucks and perform required vehicle inspections
- Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing during the work shift
Job Qualifications
- At least one year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL
- One year equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the country of employment
- Valid CDL Class A with air-brake endorsement
- Valid CDL Class B with air-brake endorsement
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Job Duties
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management safety and life critical rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all local, state and federal laws
- Perform pre and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report
- Immediately report unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch
- Attend and participate in all required training programs, briefings, and meetings
- Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices
- Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
- Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets, heavy receptacles, or potential safety hazards
- Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch
- Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris
- Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation and check-out
- Perform other duties as directed to meet customer needs
