Job Requirements

  • must have a clean and safe driving record
  • must possess a commercial driver's license (CDL Class A or B)
  • must have a valid DOT physical or ability to obtain one
  • must be willing to work overtime and extended hours
  • must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • must maintain safety standards
  • must be physically capable of performing job duties

Job Qualifications

  • must have sufficient education to understand oral and written technical instructions
  • must have excellent driving skills and customer relation abilities
  • knowledge of ready-mix truck operation and servicing preferred
  • ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • proficiency in spoken and written English
  • capable of physical activities such as climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • experience with DOT regulations preferred

Job Duties

  • work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate information flow
  • receive delivery ticket and follow instructions
  • position truck under batch plant for loading
  • operate truck to receive load and evaluate slumps
  • maneuver truck on job site including attaching chutes
  • complete all forms, reports, tickets, and paperwork
  • perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • check vehicle fluid levels and add fluids if necessary
  • clean vehicle and chutes to prevent concrete build-up
  • assist mechanics in vehicle repair and tire changes
  • maintain daily reports as required by DOT and company
  • prioritize safety according to MSHA and Vulcan standards
  • operate ready-mix truck in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
  • operate front end loader as needed
  • assist in yard, plant, and office maintenance
