Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not required
  • Possess valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate
  • Must meet criteria for safety sensitive functions per company standards
  • Must demonstrate ability to safely drive truck and operate equipment

  • Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate
  • Ability to safely drive truck and operate equipment
  • Knowledge of truck components and basic maintenance
  • Ability to maneuver truck in tight spaces using mirrors
  • Ability to recognize unacceptable waste materials
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and maps
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Commitment to follow all company safety policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Drive rear-load, split body, curotto, or automated-side load truck along designated routes to collect waste
  • Assist helpers in loading solid waste into truck hopper as needed
  • Utilize helpers while backing up according to company policy
  • Ensure company employees and third-party helpers adhere to company policies and safety compliance on route
  • Operate mechanical packer to load and compact trash into truck body
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit vehicle condition reports
  • Courteously interact with customers and respond to requests
  • Clean loose trash off truck and surrounding areas to maintain clean customer site
  • Maintain and submit DOT logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report
  • Maneuver truck in tight spaces using mirrors
  • Use key map and GPS to locate service addresses
  • Follow safe operating practices including lock out/tag out procedures
  • Monitor operations to detect loose debris and ensure safety during dumping
  • Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
