Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- valid CDL Class A or B license with air brake endorsement
- ability to travel extensively for 3-4 months at a time
- physical ability to crawl under low clearances, squat, kneel, and bend repeatedly
- ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 85 pounds
- willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- ability to operate specialized rail-bound vehicles
- commitment to following all safety guidelines and DOT regulations
Job Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- ability to perform basic mechanical tasks such as changing a tire and replacing a battery
- ability to lift and carry up to 85 pounds and occasionally assist with heavier objects
- ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under 18-inch clearance for extended periods
- minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience preferred
- high school diploma or GED preferred
Job Duties
- Operate test vehicle/detector car on and off railroad tracks
- perform vehicle inspections and equipment set-up
- record and interpret data on computer monitors
- service, maintain, and repair the vehicle and detector carriage
- climb steps and ladders to enter and exit the vehicle repeatedly
- perform ground examinations of rails with hand test units
- adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
