Job Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks such as changing tire and replacing battery
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs, occasionally assist lifting over 100 lbs
  • Ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under 18-inch clearance
  • Willingness and ability to travel 3-4 months at a time within designated regions
  • Must wear mandated personal protective equipment including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hard hats, and vests

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs and occasionally assist lifting over 100 lbs
  • Ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under low clearance
  • Two years of commercial driving experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate test vehicle/detector car on and off railroad tracks in all road conditions
  • Perform vehicle inspections and equipment set-up
  • Record and interpret data on computer monitors
  • Service, maintain, and repair the vehicle and detector carriage including crawling under vehicle
  • Climb steps and ladders to enter/exit vehicle and perform ground rail examinations
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with pilot and crew members using radio and intercom
  • Follow all safety policies and wear mandatory personal protective equipment
