Job Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks such as changing tire and replacing battery
- Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs, occasionally assist lifting over 100 lbs
- Ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under 18-inch clearance
- Willingness and ability to travel 3-4 months at a time within designated regions
- Must wear mandated personal protective equipment including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hard hats, and vests
Job Qualifications

- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs and occasionally assist lifting over 100 lbs
- Ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under low clearance
- Two years of commercial driving experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Job Duties
- Operate test vehicle/detector car on and off railroad tracks in all road conditions
- Perform vehicle inspections and equipment set-up
- Record and interpret data on computer monitors
- Service, maintain, and repair the vehicle and detector carriage including crawling under vehicle
- Climb steps and ladders to enter/exit vehicle and perform ground rail examinations
- Communicate clearly and concisely with pilot and crew members using radio and intercom
- Follow all safety policies and wear mandatory personal protective equipment
