Job Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement
- Ability to travel 3-4 months at a time within designated regions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs and assist in lifting over 100 lbs
- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks
- Ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under 18-inch clearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to adhere to safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment
Job Qualifications

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks such as changing tires or replacing batteries
- Ability to lift and carry up to 85 lbs and occasionally assist lifting objects over 100 lbs
- Ability to squat, kneel, and crawl under 18-inch clearances for extended periods
- Minimum of 2 years commercial driving experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Job Duties
- Operate test vehicle/detector car on and off railroad tracks in all road conditions
- Perform vehicle inspections and equipment set-up
- Record and interpret data on computer monitors
- Service, maintain, and repair the vehicle and detector carriage including crawling under vehicle
- Climb steps or ladders repeatedly to enter and exit the vehicle
- Perform ground examination of rails with hand test units
- Communicate verbally and via radio/intercom with crew and pilot
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure compliance with all safety and DOT regulations
