Job Requirements
- Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur's license appropriate for vehicle weight
- must pass background and drug testing as required by federal or state transportation regulations
- must pass DOT physical as trucks operated are over 10,000 pounds
- must be at least 21 years old
- ability to sit for prolonged periods in vehicle cab
- ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- must be able to travel frequently
- CDL drivers may be required to be clean shaven to meet customer safety requirements
- employment contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Must hold a valid commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for vehicle weight
- strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- ability to remain focused in busy environments
- experience with handling and transporting heavy equipment preferred
- knowledge of safety regulations and transportation laws
- good communication skills to interact professionally with customers and staff
Job Duties
- Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
- transport loads safely and timely over required routes obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations
- maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas following loading crew signals
- assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
- maintain signed invoices and shipping paperwork and deliver documentation to shipping office
- perform routine service on trucks including checking oil, water, gasoline and air and report maintenance malfunctions
- arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimal loading patterns
- perform other related duties as assigned
