Job Requirements
- A CDL required
- hazmat endorsement preferred
- must have a driving record that meets company standards
- must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening
- must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Valid CDL license
- knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
- ability to operate forklifts and hand trucks
- basic mechanical skills for vehicle inspection and maintenance
- strong attention to detail and safety
- record-keeping and paperwork completion skills
- physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Load or assist in loading trailer with materials
- unload or assist in unloading trailer by using forklift or hand truck
- operate semi-truck with one or two trailers according to state laws
- transport loads over required route to proper destinations observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
- conduct standard DOT truck inspection
- complete all company and DOT required paperwork
- complete shipping bills of lading, receive necessary signatures, and return completed paperwork to shipping office
- maintain any related records required
- perform miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air in tires
- report any maintenance malfunctions to maintenance department
- other duties as assigned
