Job Requirements

  • A CDL required
  • hazmat endorsement preferred
  • must have a driving record that meets company standards
  • must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening
  • must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL license
  • knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
  • ability to operate forklifts and hand trucks
  • basic mechanical skills for vehicle inspection and maintenance
  • strong attention to detail and safety
  • record-keeping and paperwork completion skills
  • physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Load or assist in loading trailer with materials
  • unload or assist in unloading trailer by using forklift or hand truck
  • operate semi-truck with one or two trailers according to state laws
  • transport loads over required route to proper destinations observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • conduct standard DOT truck inspection
  • complete all company and DOT required paperwork
  • complete shipping bills of lading, receive necessary signatures, and return completed paperwork to shipping office
  • maintain any related records required
  • perform miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air in tires
  • report any maintenance malfunctions to maintenance department
  • other duties as assigned
