Job Requirements

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
  • Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
  • Good customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions

Job Duties

  • Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
  • Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
  • Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight
  • Transfer freight back to the terminal to be unloaded
  • Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
  • Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
  • Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed
