Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year route delivery experience or comparable driving experience
  • valid commercial driver's license Class B required Class A preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • capability to perform physical demands including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and infrequent lifting up to 80 pounds
  • ability to climb on and off truck box
  • willingness to work in all weather conditions
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • adherence to DOT regulations
  • reliable and punctual work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • High School or GED or equivalent
  • one year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
  • valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B (Class A preferred)
  • ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public understand highway traffic signs and respond to official inquiries
  • operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
  • meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the company
  • demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
  • effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision
  • developing good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
  • maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing safety and customer relations

Job Duties

  • Run routes efficiently meeting or exceeding designated route times
  • unload product from trailer by hand or using hand cart and place in designated customer storage areas
  • frequently lift push or move product weighing 1-75 pounds up to 100 pounds
  • verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • contact management for authorization when discrepancies on invoice occur and communicate all errors or returns
  • handle customer complaints professionally
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies
  • organize a truck and make deliveries efficiently
  • check whether a truck is operating well enough to perform the route
