Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree
- at least 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred
- completion of tractor trailer driving school accepted instead of or in addition to diploma
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- insurable to operate vehicle
- ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with the public
- ability to comply with DOT regulations
- physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver hand carts with loads up to 350 pounds
- ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- willingness to work in various weather conditions and potentially confined spaces
- ability to maintain records and complete paperwork accurately
- availability for assigned schedules and extra hours as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree
- completion of tractor trailer driving school accepted
- valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- knowledge of DOT regulations
- experience driving tractor trailers in varied weather and traffic conditions
- skill in problem-solving and customer communication
- ability to operate equipment including 3 axle tractors and trailers
- understanding of food safety and hazardous materials handling protocols
- effective planning and organizational skills
- ability to perform basic math functions
Job Duties
- Safely transports product from the warehouse to customer locations according to assigned routes and schedules
- unloads product from the trailer by hand or using equipment and places it in designated customer storage areas according to specifications
- picks up, loads and unloads damaged goods and customer returns for transport back to the warehouse
- completes all required paperwork including DOT logs, maintenance reports, inspections, and invoices accurately and timely
- ensures food safety protocols are met including proper temperatures, product inspection, and sanitary conditions
- maintains and operates all assigned equipment safely including hand carts, pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment
- develops good customer relationships through excellent and courteous service and clear communication
- communicates with management regarding route deviations, product or trailer issues, and customer concerns
- transports backhaul and linehaul products accurately and timely
- works assigned schedules and overtime as needed to meet customer demands
- performs additional duties as assigned by management
