Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum one year experience driving a commercial vehicle
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Must have a clean motor vehicle record meeting insurance company guidelines
  • Proficient in using handheld computer devices
  • Ability to lift heavy products safely
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Friday with occasional overtime
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow company policies and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
  • One to two years CDL driving experience
  • Must be proficient in handheld computer equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CDL license
  • DOT physical
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using oral communication
  • Customer oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to perform basic vehicle inspections and report issues

Job Duties

  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability and product uses
  • Handle product in a safe manner using proper lifting techniques and ensure minimal product damage
  • Conduct and submit pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections for fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition
  • Maintain customer records
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to the Fleet Manager
  • Present invoices and collect payments for products delivered or picked up
  • Verify truck inventory against load out sheet
  • Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries
  • Inform customers of delivery schedules, service, and other information pertaining to products
  • Attend company meetings and route sales meetings as required
  • Check inventory levels, rotation and monitor product quality according to company and supplier standards
  • Complete daily paperwork such as product quality sheets, sequence list and other required paperwork
  • Complete all product and development training as required
  • Know and understand all competitive pricing and products
  • Maintain positive customer relations
