Job Description

Seward Motor Freight Inc. is a well-established trucking company with roots tracing back to the early 1940s. Founded by Willard and Wanda Miers, the company initially operated as a Less Than Truckload (LTL) carrier transporting freight between Omaha and Seward, Nebraska. In 1969, Wayne and Joanie Tanderup acquired Seward Motor Freight, incorporating and expanding the business significantly through the 1970s. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of cdl a driving experience
  • Valid cdl-a license
  • Ability to comply with company policies
  • Reliable work history
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings
  • Availability to work OTR routes
  • Willingness to adhere to safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum 2 years of CDL A driving experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state trucking regulations
  • Ability to operate International LT and Volvo VNL trucks preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain safety standards
  • Experience with long haul trucking

Job Duties

  • Operate assigned truck safely and efficiently
  • transport freight to designated locations within specified routes
  • adhere to hours of service and regulatory requirements
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and routine maintenance
  • communicate effectively with dispatch and management
  • ensure freight is handled according to company policies (75% drop and hook, 95% no-touch)
  • maintain accurate logs and documentation
