Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Valid Colorado EMT certification
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license with minimum 2 years driving experience
- At least 6 months of ambulance driving experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate critical care ambulance vehicles
- Must be free of any clinical or corrective action
- Ability to complete mandatory training and attend staff meetings
- Willingness to participate in community outreach and public relations
- Ability to assist with patient care under supervision
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Colorado State EMT and CPR certificates
- Valid driver's license for a minimum of 2 years
- 6 months of ambulance driving experience strongly preferred
- Free of any clinical or corrective action
- Ability to work part-time hours as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
Job Duties
- Safely drive the critical care ground ambulance and maintain the ambulance including fuel, oxygen, air, and scheduled maintenance
- Assist the flight crew in the care of all patients transported by CCT
- Safely load and unload patients into the CCT ambulance and fixed wing airplane or helicopter
- Assist in public relation presentations for public awareness within the hospital and community
- Attend mandatory staff meetings the 3rd Thursday of every month
- Participate in projects contributing to meeting the program's goals
- Complete equipment and orientation checklists
- Ensure the ambulance is ready for transport by checking, restocking, and cleaning the ambulance, equipment, and supplies
- Assist the flight crew in completing daily checklists
- Obtain work phone and ambulance keys, check in with dispatch and inform of different phone or ambulance use
- Check in with flight crew and Children's Hospital calendar for pre-planned transports or PR events
- Complete annual mandatory training requirements
- Assist the flight crew with first of the month checks
- Report to the next shift relevant information like ambulance fuel needs, oxygen or medical air levels, pre-planned transports, and equipment problems
- Ensure the ambulance is locked and shoreline plugged in and functioning appropriately
- Continuously check emails for ongoing updates and communication
- Contact dispatch to acknowledge transport pages while communicating location, crew, risk assessment score, and ETA
- Under direction of flight crew, assist with patient assessment including obtaining vital signs and checking pulses
- Assist with preparing patients for transport by setting up monitoring equipment
- Clean up and restock after transport
- Follow CAMTS accreditation rules
- Emergency procedures and medications may be delegated by flight crew within scope of practice
- Participate in community programs to maintain AMR and Children's Hospital image and establish community relations
