Job Requirements
- at least one year teaching experience in a catholic educational institution or setting
- documented evidence of educational and work background
- work well with others under direction of designated personnel
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- actively participate in weekly mass and chapel programs
- ability to coordinate in multi-denominational settings
- proficient in microsoft suite and social media
- recruit and recognize teachers and encourage attendance
- work in ecumenical, pluralistic multi-faith environment consistent with usaaf chaplain corps
- maintain office hours and be available to volunteers
- coordinate with chapel personnel for budget and purchasing
- submit monthly reports
- provide two-week notice for extended absence
- submit application for background check upon contract award
- attend staff and advisory meetings as required
Job Qualifications
- bachelor of arts in theology, faith formation, catechesis, religious education or related field preferred
- one year teaching experience in a catholic educational institution or setting
- experience in a military setting preferred
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- proficiency in microsoft office suite and social media platforms
- ability to work well with others professionally
- experience in coordinating religious education programs
- ability to work in ecumenical and multi-faith settings
- motivated and self-directed
Job Duties
- develop a yearly continuing religious education program for all parishioners from preschool through adults
- coordinate with designated personnel to prepare an annual fiscal year budget for religious education programs
- select and procure teaching materials with approval
- submit fund requests for purchasing with authorized oversight
- develop and implement registration, recruitment, and training plans for teachers and volunteers
- coordinate digital outreach and youth ministry events
- maintain office hours and be accessible to volunteers and parishioners
- publicize programs and activities in advance
- recruit and train teachers and volunteers for ecumenical vacation bible school
- ensure new students are welcomed and absentees contacted regularly
- maintain detailed participant records including special needs
- ensure compliance with background checks and safety requirements for all volunteers
- participate in continuing education when feasible
- maintain and organize the RE office and storerooms
- monitor financial handling to comply with regulations
- ensure facilities are secured and cleaned post-events
- assist in planning sacraments and liturgies such as first communion and confirmation
- submit after-action reports on programs
- collaborate with chapel public affairs for publicity
- comply with mandatory contractor training
- provide monthly reports on participation and events
