Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- two years of progressively responsible experience in food and beverage supervision
- Texas Class C driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Texas Department of Health Food Protection Management certification
- Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission certification
- must pass a drug test, driver license check, criminal history background check, periodic CJIS background check, and social security number verification check
- ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds
- ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions
- ability to interact effectively with upset staff and public representatives
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- completion of a post-secondary Hospitality Management program is preferred
- two years of progressively responsible experience in food and beverage supervision, preferably in a full-service restaurant, fast food, concession, or banquet setting
- familiarity with a wide variety of service styles including buffets, full service, concessions and offsite functions
- experience in alcohol service is highly desired
- skill in leading teams of employees, including coaching, development and training
- skill in developing and administering room and flow layouts for events
- skill in improvising while working away from support employees
- Texas Class C driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire per state law)
- Texas Department of Health Food Protection Management certification
- Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission certification
Job Duties
- Supervises banquet staff through the set-up, break down, and duration of events
- reviews customer needs in advance of the function or event and ensures that staffing, food supplies and set up needs are met
- during the event, ensures that all customer needs are satisfied
- ensures that equipment is properly cleaned and stored and facilities are cleaned accordingly after events
- assists in training food service attendants with the Banquet Supervisor and Food Sales & Service Supervisor
- provides work leadership promoting a positive work atmosphere of mutual respect with all food service personnel
- works directly with Banquet Supervisor, Food Sales & Service Supervisor and Banquet Chef to assure proper plating and presentations of all catered events
- ensures that all food is served according to established standards
- assists with ordering supplies and products related to guest service ensuring the highest quality and greatest cost effectiveness
- maintains a safe and sanitary environment as outlined in the safety program and all local, State and national regulatory agencies
- meets and exceeds all City of Plano health requirements
- ensures that the concession stand equipment is properly maintained, set up and stored
- manages the concession stand, works as cashier as needed, supervises cashiers, food assemblers and acts as food expo, ensuring that the guest gets the correct order
- responsible for alcoholic beverage service at Plano Event Center including product inventory, ordering, receiving, organization and the storage of the alcohol product, cash handling, inventory reports
- must have Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) certification and ensures that standards of service and legal requirements are continually met
- regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule is essential
