Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two to three years experience in a culinary position
  • two to three years post-high school education preferably in culinary arts
  • knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • physical ability to handle kitchen activities and event demands
  • commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three years experience in a related culinary position
  • two to three years of post-high school education preferably a culinary degree
  • advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
  • excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • willingness to be hands on with staff and operations
  • experience of menu planning
  • dedication and self motivation
  • good reliability and time keeping
  • ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • flexible approach to hours and duties
  • willingness to undergo training as the need arises

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for Catering and Events as assigned
  • ensure a sufficient inventory is maintained to meet daily needs, record deliveries, deal with discrepancies, and assist with storage
  • ensure proper handling of all food products and equipment is maintained to ensure food safety and kitchen standards are adhered to at all times
  • ensure cleanliness and high sanitation standards are maintained at all times
  • interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend discipline as appropriate
  • participate actively in event-based operations including evenings and weekends
  • assist in menu planning and execution
