Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in hotel operations or sales preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under stress
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Physical stamina to stand or walk for long periods
  • High personal hygiene and appearance standards
  • Proficient in computer software systems including Delphi, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or other related field preferred
  • Previous experience in operations or sales in an upscale hotel or resort property preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle large, complex, multifaceted events and multiple events concurrently
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Highly developed customer service skills with a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to engage guests at all levels
  • Passion for providing warm, engaging and personalized service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
  • Punctuality and reliability to report to work on schedule
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Adherence to standards of appearance and high level of personal hygiene
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Computer literacy including Delphi, Salesforce, Microsoft Office and other systems

Job Duties

  • Communicate event details to operating departments and customers in a timely and thorough manner following established procedures
  • Coordinate menu tastings with customers adhering to established procedures
  • Participate in site inspections to assist Catering Sales Managers and others as needed in the selling process
  • Effectively utilize existing hotel software systems to manage time, event details, and proper communication to all parties
  • Coordinate menus, room set ups, audio visual needs, parking, and other essential activities related to producing a successful event
  • Achieve all revenue and Medallia goals as assigned by the Director of Catering and the Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Be knowledgeable about all hotel and competitive set hotels capabilities including front desk, reservations, room service, and catering
  • Merchandise function space and attain maximum room rental wherever appropriate
  • Understand and follow all guidelines relating to catering merchandising, space release and free sell opportunities
  • Continuously refine product and concept offering
  • Actively participate in industry-related activities which may include mornings, evenings or weekends
  • Achieve budgeted catering revenue goals including food, beverage, and room rental
  • Provide support and direction to administrative staff
  • Be fully aware of all corporate sponsored promotions
  • Develop and implement individual quarterly and annual action plans
  • Submit required reports on a timely basis
  • Maintain all accounts with current trace dates, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding activity
  • Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed
  • Actively participate in sales and catering meetings
  • Participate in the ongoing forecasting process
  • Perform any other duties required by leadership
