Job Requirements
- Minimum of 18 years old
- must be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities including bending, stooping, climbing, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
- must be able to be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment
- must be able to maintain O'Hare Airport field driving privileges
- must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need
- successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or preferred
- excellent communication skills
- ability to read, write, and speak English and numerical values fluently
- valid driver’s license with a clean record
- ability to operate a computer or tablet to enter and retrieve data
- able to read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
- eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances such as FAA, TSA, ORD Port Authority/SIDA, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal per local requirements
- legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Job Duties
- Inspect and verify catering truck security seals in compliance with aviation security standards
- ensure all protocols are followed before trucks are released to service departing flights
- maintain accurate documentation of seal verification activities
- work with minimal supervision while upholding strict safety and security requirements
- support operational efficiency by ensuring timely verification processes
- adhere to Airport and United Airlines Safety Standards
