Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- one to two years experience in sales or catering in hospitality industry preferred
- ability to provide and maintain a valid drivers license
- must be able to sit at a desk for up to eight hours per day
- must be able to stand and walk for several hours
- must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
- must be able to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs
- strong organizational skills
- excellent communication skills
- must maintain neat and well-groomed appearance
- regular attendance
- willingness to work varying schedules
- must follow company and safety policies
- ability to travel on occasion
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- bachelors degree or equivalent level of education preferred
- one to two years experience in sales or catering in hospitality industry preferred
- excellent leadership capability
- excellent customer relations skills
- good communication skills, verbal, written and electronic
- intermediate computer skills
- basic computational skills
- knowledge of math and budgetary analysis
- ability to analyze and foresee user needs
- ability to deal with internal and external customers with patience, tact and diplomacy
- knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system and POS systems
- strong issue resolution and proven analytical skills
- knowledge of relevant employment and labor laws
Job Duties
- Manage group and catering accounts to maximize business potential
- negotiate group and catering business and contracts that meet or exceed hotel revenue goals
- negotiate contracts, ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented
- make on-site and field presentations to prospective clients
- identify opportunities to up sell customer through food and beverage offerings, room upgrades, AV and lighting upgrades and spa services
- drive strategies to develop long term business relationships and repeat business
- enthusiastically and proactively sell the Hotel concept to group and catering prospects
