The University at Buffalo's Campus Dining and Shops department is a vital component of the university's hospitality and food service operations. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in food service or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a high volume catering, restaurant, or hotel operation
- Ability to multi task effectively
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and vendor purchasing/inventory programs
- Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to drive a commercial truck
- Must be able to work on flexible schedule including weekends, nights, holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for minimum of 8 hours per day
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull items weighing 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs or more
- Must have or be willing to obtain DOT certification
- Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Ability to demonstrate safe driving practices

Job Duties
- Executes events in catering, concessions, and special events ensuring excellence in food and guest service
- Takes all delivery orders, bills each order, and prepares delivery order sheets for distribution
- Maintains pricing and portion standards
- Establishes relationships with prospective and current clients to conduct business and meet clients' needs
- Updates event orders and maintains constant contact with clients
- Manages weddings and acts as onsite contact for booked weddings
- Communicates clients' needs effectively with catering staff to best execute events
- Completes diagrams for best execution of events
- Establishes and adheres to event timelines
- Orders and communicates rental needs
- Performs event follow-up activities with guests to ensure satisfaction and reports issues to Director of Catering
- Initiates and supports marketing initiatives
- Proficiently assists in all hourly positions as needed
- Performs other duties assigned by the Director of Catering
- May be assigned to different operations as required by business needs
